Cheryl Draa is an interior designer who has lived in Ohio, Texas and Georgia. She loves to travel, and raised two children in Texas and Georgia, while promoting her interior design business of “liveable interiors at workable prices”.
Cheryl started her firm initially to make enough money to take her kids to McDonalds once a month. Later, she thought she’d try to make enough to get season tickets to Six Flags, or take them to Calloway Gardens overnight to see the Christmas lights. Soccer & Swimming carpools for the children took up her spare time and saw her traveling the US. Checking into and out of the hotels, seeing mostly only the Aquatic center or the soccer field of many wonderful cities, she realized that they were missing the views. Desiring to experience more, Cheryl started organizing mini tours of these cities for her kids and their friends. For instance, she squeezed in trips to Chattanooga’s Riverwalk while at the Sectional Swim meet, and they counted how many “cowboys” they could see during the weekend. Everyone had a whole lot more fun! Her kids are now in graduate schools, and along the way she built a successful interior design firm with a retail location, and various awards followed.
Cheryl’s hobbies include reading, and gardening; but her most exciting hobby is having pictures taken of herself with famous people. If you think you are famous….there are still openings in her album.
Her new motto is “It is not about the destination, it is about the journey along the way….” Cheryl tries to sit down with some good coffee (and a bite of chocolate) and look around a little more often. She is passionate about good design, and sees it everywhere. Her travel always includes a distraction somewhere into design elements, and encourages the reader to see things in a positive light. Follow her travels as she brings us a new perspective.
