We are very excited to announce the release of our new table-top displays. This display system was designed for versatility and portability with a very stable solid steel base and a socket system that allows you to quickly remove the rods for an appointment. These displays are easily modified and can even be wall-mounted if needed. The best part is that they are 100% rebateable! Call any one of our drapery hardware specialists for all the details.

Open Arms Home Video
I have posted on it before so many of you are already aware of the Open Arms Home For Children in South Africa which was founded by my brother and sister-in-law. Here is a great new video created by Phoenix Channel 12 news reporter and friend of the Open Arms Home, Rick Debruhl.
Childhelp Keys Community Center Valances – Phase 1
When we got wind of the Childhelp community service project that the Arizona north chapter of ASID had recently undertaken, we contacted Sharlie McRaney ASID of Tigh Interiors to see if they needed any help with the draperies. (See the official Childhelp video below)
It turned out that our timing was pretty good because valances in the preschool area had yet to be planned and they accepted our offer enthusiastically. When I told my daughters about the project they were very excited and wanted to get involved. We made an appointment and visited the location to take some photos and measurements.
When we arrived the kids were all spread out doing different activities in small groups. As soon as we sat down, most of the kids in the room quickly converged on our table and bombarded us with “watchadoin, whashername, I like yer hair, wheredjacomfrom, why this, and why that? We were only able to get to work once the little guys had to leave for breakfast…. but we were not in a hurry, and my girls really enjoyed playing with the kids.
We took the measurements back to the office where we burned through several whiteboard markers with some furious brainstorming. We finally settled on a design that we all thought would work and submitted this video to Sharlie We could not believe it but Sharlie and the other designers on this project loved our idea. We nailed it on the very first try! Anita Boetsma (the workroom guru here) has gotten involved and showed us how we can fabricate the triangles with little or no sewing. Now all we have to do is find the right fabrics and we will be good to go. We will keep you “posted” (pun intended) as this project progresses.
Skype Video Calls and Chat (IM)
We are now able to make and recieve video calls with Skype! This has been very useful when hammering out the details of complicated custom brackets or for those times when it is easier to show you something rather than to trying to use words or sketches. Heck, some folks just like the face-to-face! Also, this is the same software that we use to “chat” so once you have it you will be hyper-connected to HB! go to www.skype.com and download the free software, then search for “helser.” Or after installation you can click the skype buttons in the sidebar to contact us.
This video shows it used in a social way but we have found it to be a highly effective collaboration tool. Please consider this your invitation to skype us any time!
