“Super Suite” Book Review By Hope Helser
Super Suite is a book that anyone would love to use to redecorate their room. It shows before and after pictures of rooms that girls have creatively designed. This book even has a list of stores that you might need for a few of the supplies! Although there are a few things that you may need to go out and purchase, like paint, most of the necessities you can find around your house!
One of my favorites, Morgan’s Ultra Mod, had a creative decoration that could be used in any room. I think that it’s amazing because all you need are plastic cups, thin chain or heavy ribbon to hang it with, and glue! All you do is start gluing the cups together by the edges and soon you will see a ball start to form. Once all of the cups are glued together, (it takes 250) you may want to dust the edges with a little bit of silver spray paint to give it a cooler effect. You can hang it off of a ceiling hook or just set it on a desk or shelf. It really adds something to the room, and the cups used are sold in many different colors so it will match any room!
Super Suite consists of more specific ideas, but at the same time, it lets you use your imagination to decorate your room, your way. It explains how to make each decoration, light covering, pillowcase, frame, and whatever else that room consists of. I love that because whether you are completely redecorating your room, or just wanting to find ideas to add a little something to it, it has separate directions for each creative idea.
Each of the rooms has a different name, each with the creator’s name in it. Every room has its own style; take Amanda’s Black and White Modern and Kaori’s Flower Power for example. Judging by the looks of their rooms, Amanda and Kaori are two completely different people, but both of their ideas, to me, are fabulous! Amanda decorated her room with black and white zebra striped pillows, a funky black and white striped lamp, fantastic striped walls, and creative black and white picture frames made out of buttons and dominoes. I would love to have a room like that, but I would also love to have Kaori’s room. Kaori’s room consists of beautiful pink satin curtains, decorative satin flower pillows, tissue paper flowers, and flowery frames and mirrors. Super Suite describes fifteen rooms, and anyone would be able to find the style they want for their room.
I really enjoyed reading this book, and I know that if anyone else decided to read it also, they would say the same. Super Suite is a book I think could be read by anyone old enough to use spray paint and to read. Yup, it’s that simple. It’s loaded with ideas to suit anyone’s style. – Hope

“It’s Your Room” Book Review By Hope Helser
It’s Your Room is a really fun book that tells the basic steps to re-organizing and re-decorating your room. I like this book because it sort of uses ‘kid language’ to explain what to do. I can easily apply the stuff that I learned to real life. Really, I could walk out the door right now and know what to look for and how to know things like whether or not it will fit through your door, how to plan out what color and style you want your furniture, and even how to design a floor plan.
One thing that also helps a whole lot is that it also helps you to make a budget. I wish I could go to the best store in the world and get everything I wanted and have a dream room, but unfortunately, not too many people have that kind of money. It’s Your Room explains how to have a fantastic room, and still stay within your spending range.
If you were planning to paint your room a different color, this book says it all. Let me ask you this: Who on this earth would enjoy painting their room a color that they thought would work perfectly and then learn the hard way, after they had already finished painting, that it was definitely not what they had wanted? Most people would probably think, “No one I know, that’s for sure.” This amazing book has everything, from the traditional color wheel to the way lighting changes the color. It helps you to consider things like what direction the room faces and how much sunlight it gets.
Did you know that the colors you choose to decorate your room with can actually change the size of your room? Well, not literally, but it can positively change the way you see the room dimensions. Did you know this? I sure didn’t until I read It’s Your Room. This section in the book will tell you things like what colors will make a room look smaller, taller, larger, shorter, or even wider. This information changed my opinion of cool room colors. I was thinking about how awesome it would be to have a dark pink or navy blue room before I read this. Now I know how small it could make my room look. If you had a room that was so spacey that it was uncomfortable you might want darker colors like this to make it look a little smaller, and if you had a uncomfortably tiny room, brighter colors like red and bright green and yellow would make it seem a bit more roomy.
Let’s face it; organizing a room full of junk and dirty clothes is both time consuming and boring! Wait! Scratch that! It can be the most fun ever! It’s Your Room is loaded with fun ideas of how to make organizing a total hit! Pile parties with your friends, giving instead of getting hand-me-downs, and how to teach yourself to be merciless with your giving-away and throwing-away stuff- it’s all in the book. Okay, we know that letting go of those things that you got when you were a baby and that collection of rusty tin trash that you find on the side of the road can be hard. Well, don’t worry, because this 
book not only shows how to decide if you should keep your junk or not, but says how to make the most of old storage places for the things that you did settle on keeping.
After reading this, you’ve got to admit, this must be a pretty great book for someone to have so many wonderful things to say about it, and boy, is that true. And you know what? These are just a few of the awesome things in It’s Your Room.
