This past semester I had the chance to work with some accounting students from Arizona State University. I randomly met one of the students at a wedding reception and learned that they needed to tour a manufacturing facility as a part of their semester project.
I was in college not too long ago and I remember how valuable the tours and onsite opportunities were, so I invited them down to our shop. Our initial meeting was about an hour, during which I gave the 4 students a tour of our shop, then we had a Q&A about accounting, inventory, production processes, (you know…the fun stuff)and how those drive management and marketing decisions. They gathered as much information as they could at the time and we planned on getting together down the road.
Over the next few months, we spent some more time together discussing any other questions that arose.
I just ran into one of the students again this past week (ironically enough at another wedding reception!) and followed up on their project. Sounded like their presentation went great!
So we just wanted to give them all a shout out and congratulations on a project well done! Thanks for letting Helser Brothers be a part of it!
