Last time we reported on the progress of the valances for the “Childhelp” Keys preschool, (view original post…) the designers of AZ North ASID had just approved Hope’s valance idea, so Anita quickly got to work figuring yardage and found the perfect Sunbrella fabric in no time.
Hope and Sofia came to work with me to paint the rods which gave me a chance to spend some quality time with my girls…..
Of course we had to start the day off with a trip to Michaels Crafts….Oh darn;-) We got the sky-blue paint and white for the clouds of course, but that place is packed full of so many fun things for little girls we ended up staying for quite a while.
We got the girls all ready for action with protective gear including rubber gloves over the shoes and Hope did the spraying while Sofia wiped the runs.

Hope, shown here with Sharlie McRaney of ASID and Director Deborah Chapman, attended an open house where all the many contributors to the success of this project were honored. Channel 3 was even live on the scene Saturday before the open house and Sharlie was kind enough to mention Hope! (See minute 7:20)
It was an honor to be a part of such a worthy cause and we were very inspired by the stories of all the folks who stepped up to help. We also want to express our heartiest gratitude to Anita Boetsma for all of her help and expertise on this project. You are always willing to pitch in and we sincerely appreciate you.
