Contemporganic Finialzilla

finialzillaWe had to ask our production manager Gene to hold this monster for the photo because he was the only one with the muscles to lift it!

This has got to be the biggest finial that we have ever made.  The room must have been enormous!

It was a one of a kind custom prototype for a client that ended up not working out.   We were shooting for the “contemporganic” look that we thought her drawing conveyed, but hey, she didn’t like it….no biggie….it happens.

I think we should take this lemon and make some lemonade. We are going to make it into something useful and give it away.   Put your ideas below and the best one gets the finished product.

I’m building a new grape trellis in my backyard garden that I think it would look pretty cool in !!

I think it would make a great piece of garden sculpture. Perphaps it could be placed in a pot with some climbing plants.

I love this finial! The design would be beautiful on fabrics too.

I think you should put the drapery rod vertically in the ground near a patio and hang a potted plant – maybe a bougainvillea – on the curly Q. It would be marvelous darling!

Hey, it would make a great sign holder if you mounted the pole to the ground vertically.

Well guys, Sue Carlson was the first to comment and though she didn’t elaborate in the comment I found out early that it is her intention to mount the pole vertically also. The problem is that many of you had similar ideas! We had to make a judgement call on this and have determined that Sue gets “Finialzilla”. I sure hope you are all cool with the decision.
