Our highly anticipated and multi-award winning line of drapery hardware “Artefice” is finally here. After teasing you guys for about a year we have decided to put you out of your misery and do what we will call a “web-only pre-release.” The catalog should be printed by the middle of next month and the main roll-out will be at the International Window Coverings Expo in Atlanta this May, but you progressive blogger types get to see stuff first because, well, you know how to use your computer!
By the way, do us a favor and tell all your interior design buddies to forsake their archaic tendencies, overcome their fear of computers, and jump on the web train so we don’t have to print so many damn catalogs!……ahem….sorry.
Anyway, this line is a tribute to our most beloved medium, iron. It sounds sappy but that is how we truly feel, durnit. I guess after working with a material for so many years you either get tired of it or you love it more and more. Well we are absolutely head over heels for iron……downright twitterpatted (Bambi).
Its about authenticity….. we feel that for the same reason you wouldn’t dream of slapping paint on an antique cocobolo trunk, this authentic forged and machined iron hardware is only available in its birthday suit. When iron is subjected to the extreme trauma and heat of forging, “impurities” come to the surface and heat spots form creating a rich look that is impossible to duplicate. Artefice is buffed and clear coated to preserve and emphasize the natural qualities of the iron.
